OPENING TIMES

Every evening the display will start at 1730hrs.  Visitors can arrive between 5:30pm – 9:00pm (with woodland closing at 10.30pm).

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

There is 1.3km of path, meandering through 14 acres of woodland.

A gentle stroll for most will take in the region of 60 minutes or more. However, it is not a conveyor belt, and visitors can take as long as they like to enjoy the stunning visuals.

WEATHER

The addition of weather simply intensifies the atmosphere with the lighting effects enhanced by cold mists and drizzle, and gusting wind animating the whole display.

The event will go ahead in all weathers, unless the conditions are deemed to be unsafe (e.g. Met Office Severe Weather Warnings issued for electrical storms or gale force winds). Snow is a beautiful addition and the show will go ahead. If there is extreme weather and you are unsure, please phone before traveling.

CLOTHING

This is an outdoor event in November, so please apply common sense. Wrap up warm with gloves, hats and warm layers. Be prepared with a waterproof jacket and ensure your footwear is suitable for cold weather and walking the distance on our woodland paths. Being comfortable and warm will make the experience altogether more enjoyable.

CHILDREN

We love children, and warmly welcome them to our event. The path are all leveled whinstone, therefore a robust pushchair suitable for countryside terrain would be advised for younger children.

To keep them safe, and to prevent little people getting lost in the woods, we ask that children remain in the company of an adult, and properly supervised at all times.

There are electrical cables for the lighting and natural obstacles such as ditches. These have been carefully placed to be outwith the reach of the public behind roped-off areas. With safety in mind, we ask you to ensure that children are not allowed to stray from the paths, enter roped-off boundaries or wander into display areas to touch the lights or creatures they may spot

FOOD AND DRINK

To keep chills at bay, there will a stand at the entrance and down at our Hub serving some rather famous gourmet meat pies. Acclaimed award-winning local butcher T & R Skinner of the Extraordinary Sausage Co. are currently planning the menu, but we expect their top quality, melt-in-the-mouth pies – made with locally sourced meat – to be a favourite with visitors.

ARE THERE TOILETS ON SITE?

Yes there are toilets located at reception with baby changing facilities before you start your walk and there are more located at the “hub” area near the food and drink stalls about half way round the woodland.

DISABILITIES

The paths throughout the woodland are suitable for mobility scooters and buggies.  The use of manual wheelchairs is not recommended.

Please be aware that this event takes place in a woodland location at night therefore care must be taken at all times throughout your visit.  Please call a member of our team if you have any questions regarding disability access on 01360 752052
